Clarke wins again at Oulton Park

Stuart Clarke had a busy but successful weekend at Oulton Park over the Bank Holiday Monday competing in both the Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup and the MINI Challenge.
The weekend started with a little worry when the gearbox failed in testing which the team did a brilliant job changing over night ready for qualifying. From here on in the weekend went well for Stuart. In free practice on the Saturday morning Stuart tested the gearbox in the Astra checking all was OK for qualifying. Then Stuart jumped into the Team DART prepared MINI cooper JCW class car and set the fastest time in free practice by just over a second in the wet having never driven the car before.
In qualifying for the Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup Stuart put the Tesco Momentum 99 branded Astra VXR on pole position. Having done this Stuart jumped straight out the Astra and into the JCW class MINI and gained yet another pole position.
In what was a hectic weekend was also a successful one. Stuart’s comment –
“I always love going to Oulton Park and I had the phone call on the Thursday night from Jason Richardson at Team DART asking if I would be interested in driving with them in the JCW MINI. I didn’t need to be asked twice and jumped at the offer! The weekend could not have gone any better, although we had the gearbox troubles in qualifying which were sorted thanks to the efforts of my guys on the Astra. Once the weekend was under way gaining two pole positions and going home with three wins from six races and 5 podiums I couldn’t ask for more! I would like to thank Macca who works on the Astra and the crew at Tesco Momentum 99 Racing, all the guys at Team DART in the MINI Challenge and my personal sponsors Bodywork Direct, Car Go Direct logistics”.
